How to Choose a Bracelet That Matches Your Personal Style
Jewellery is personal. The bracelet you choose can be colourful and expressive, clean and understated, artistic, romantic or a little rebellious. The important thing is finding something that feels like you.
At Urband London, we create original wearable art designed in London, with stainless steel bracelets available in hundreds of designs and four different widths. Many of our distinctive styles can also be discovered across our Apple Watch bands and double-sided earrings, making it easy to find wearable art that suits your individual look.
With so much choice, sometimes the easiest way to find the right piece isn't to start with a particular collection — it's to start with your personal style.
Whether you love bold colour, geometric patterns, flowers, wildlife or minimalist design, here's how to find jewellery that feels right for you.
Start With Your Style
Think about the clothes, colours and accessories you naturally reach for. Do you love statement pieces, or do you prefer something subtle? Are you drawn to art and pattern, or simple graphic design?
We've organised our designs into different styles to make discovering your favourites easier.
Artistic
If you see jewellery as another form of creative expression, start with our Artistic designs.
Expect imaginative compositions, unexpected colour combinations and designs that can turn a bracelet, Apple Watch band or pair of earrings into miniature pieces of wearable art.
Black & Silver
For a sophisticated monochrome look, Black & Silver combines strong contrast with an easy-to-wear palette.
These designs work particularly well if much of your wardrobe is black, grey, white or neutral — and they're an excellent choice when you want something distinctive without introducing lots of colour.
Colourful
Why choose one colour when you can wear several?
Our Colourful designs are for people who enjoy bright combinations, energetic patterns and jewellery that immediately catches the eye.
A colourful bracelet can transform a simple outfit, while colourful earrings can bring the same energy closer to the face.
Sometimes a little colour is all an outfit needs.
Floral
Flowers never really disappear from fashion, but floral jewellery doesn't have to be traditional.
Our Floral styles reinterpret flowers through colour, pattern and contemporary design, from delicate motifs to much bolder botanical statements.
They're particularly effective across bracelets and earrings, where the different formats give floral artwork a completely different character.
Geometric
Circles, squares, lines, checks and abstract shapes give Geometric jewellery its distinctive character.
These designs are ideal if you love modern graphics, architecture, pattern and strong visual structure.
Geometric designs also work particularly well on the larger surface of a bracelet or Apple Watch band.
Love & Friendship
Some jewellery is chosen because of what it means.
Our Love & Friendship designs celebrate affection, connection and positivity, making them particularly suited to meaningful gifts — or simply something special to choose for yourself.
Mandala
Intricate, symmetrical and full of detail, Mandala designs transform beautifully into wearable art.
They're particularly appealing if you're drawn to decorative patterns and designs that reveal more detail the longer you look at them.
The repeating nature of many mandala patterns makes them especially striking when they wrap around the wrist.
Minimalist
If your philosophy is less is more, explore Minimalist designs.
Clean lines, restrained patterns and simpler compositions make these pieces easy to combine with everyday clothing while still offering something distinctive.
Punk
Jewellery doesn't always need to behave itself.
Our Punk designs have a stronger, more unconventional personality — ideal for anyone who prefers jewellery with attitude rather than something predictable.
Simplicity
Simple doesn't have to mean ordinary.
Our Simplicity designs focus on uncomplicated patterns and clean visual ideas. They're easy to wear and particularly good if you want something original without an overly busy design.
Wildlife
For animal and nature lovers, Wildlife brings patterns and creatures from the natural world into wearable design.
From animal-inspired markings to more illustrative designs, these pieces offer a playful way to show a little personality.
Choose the Right Bracelet Width
Once you've found a style you love, think about how much of a statement you want your bracelet to make.
Urband London stainless steel stretch bracelets are available in four widths:
6mm Super Skinny: delicate and subtle. Ideal if you prefer very slim jewellery or enjoy wearing several bracelets together.
10mm Skinny: still refined, but with more room for the artwork and pattern to be noticed.
18mm Standard: a great balance between everyday wear and statement jewellery, giving the design plenty of space without feeling oversized.
22mm Wide: the boldest option. The larger surface makes the artwork particularly prominent and turns the bracelet into a real statement piece.
There isn't a "correct" width. Someone with a small wrist may love a wide statement bracelet, while someone else may prefer the subtle look of a 6mm design.
Choose according to the look you want rather than following rules.
Think About the Colours You Already Wear
Your wardrobe can provide useful clues.
If you mostly wear black, white and neutral colours, you have two very different options: continue the monochrome look with a Black & Silver or Minimalist piece, or use a Colourful, Floral or Artistic design as the focal point of your outfit.
If your wardrobe is already full of colour and pattern, you might enjoy finding jewellery that picks up one or two of those colours.
You don't necessarily need everything to match.
Sometimes contrast is much more interesting.
Everyday Bracelet or Statement Piece?
Another useful question is: when do you want to wear it?
For an everyday bracelet, you might prefer a narrower width or a simpler design that works easily with different outfits.
For evenings, holidays, events or occasions when you want your jewellery to be noticed, an 18mm or 22mm bracelet with an Artistic, Colourful, Floral or Geometric design can make much more of a statement.
But again, there are no rules.
If you love statement jewellery every day, wear it every day.
Don't Forget the Fit
Comfort matters just as much as appearance.
Urband London bracelets are made from interlinked stainless steel components that create a flexible stretch bracelet with no traditional clasp. We generally recommend wearing them slightly loose rather than tight against the wrist.
Our bracelets are available in sizes from XS to XL, so check your wrist measurement before ordering and use our bracelet size guide to find the best fit.
Bring Your Style to Your Apple Watch
Wearing a smartwatch doesn't mean giving up interesting jewellery.
Our Apple Watch bands combine the practicality of your watch with the look of a designer bracelet, allowing something you may wear every day to become part of your personal style.
Instead of treating your watch as simply a piece of technology, choose a band in the same way you would choose jewellery.
Love bold colour? Explore Colourful or Artistic designs.
Prefer something more understated? Look at Minimalist, Simplicity or Black & Silver.
Love pattern? Geometric, Floral and Mandala designs can make an Apple Watch look completely different.
You can even coordinate your Apple Watch band with your other jewellery — or deliberately choose something that contrasts.
Add Double-Sided Earrings to the Look
Your personal style doesn't have to stop at your wrist.
Urband London's double-sided earrings are designed to be seen from both sides, bringing artwork, pattern and colour to a piece of jewellery that naturally moves as you wear it.
They're an easy way to continue a look you've already created with a bracelet or Apple Watch band.
If you love colourful jewellery, for example, you might pair a colourful bracelet with earrings featuring similarly vibrant artwork. If your style is more graphic or understated, geometric or monochrome earrings can complement a Black & Silver or Minimalist bracelet.
You don't need to choose identical designs.
Often, choosing pieces with a shared colour, mood or artistic character creates a more individual look than wearing an exact matching set.

Mixing and Stacking Bracelets
If choosing one style is difficult, you don't necessarily have to.
Narrow bracelets are particularly good for stacking. Try combining complementary colours, mixing a simple bracelet with a more intricate design, or deliberately placing two contrasting patterns together.
You can also combine different widths to create a more individual look.
And if you wear an Apple Watch, think of your watch band as part of the combination rather than something separate from your jewellery.
The result doesn't need to be perfectly coordinated.
Personal style is often more interesting when it isn't.
Build a Look That's Yours
Once you know the styles you're naturally drawn to, you can use them across different pieces.
You might choose a bold 22mm bracelet as the main statement and keep your earrings understated. You might wear a colourful Apple Watch band with simple earrings. Or you might combine different pieces because they share a particular colour or artistic feeling.
The aim isn't to create a perfectly matched set.
It's to create a combination that feels personal.
There Isn't One Right Style — Only Yours
Trends come and go, but the best jewellery is usually the jewellery you continue reaching for because it feels right when you wear it.
That's why choosing a bracelet — or any piece of jewellery — shouldn't just be about what's fashionable.
It might be colourful or monochrome. Minimal or extravagant. Floral, geometric, artistic or inspired by wildlife. It might coordinate perfectly with what you're wearing — or deliberately clash with it.
Choose the design that makes you smile.
